Does this course make me a Florida notary?

No. Florida notaries are appointed by the Governor. This course teaches you the steps required to apply for a commission and build a business, but it does not automatically result in an appointment.

Does it satisfy Florida’s required education?

This is a business-development and practical notary-services course. It is separate from any state-required education and does not replace the official Florida notary application process. The state offers a free approved education course for first-time applicants.

Is E&O insurance required?

Florida requires a surety bond for commissioning (which protects the public). Errors and omissions (E&O) insurance is optional but highly recommended to protect you as the notary.

How much can a Florida notary charge?

Florida generally limits the fee for a traditional notarial act to $10. In the course, we explain how lawful notarial fees differ from separately disclosed travel, convenience, or signing-service charges.

Does the class make me a certified loan-signing agent?

We provide an introduction to loan signing to help you understand the role. However, a signing agent coordinates documents but does not provide legal or financial advice. You must first be a commissioned notary to perform notarizations.

Will I receive a certificate?

Yes. The Certificate of Completion documents your participation in L2’s training program. It is not a Florida notary commission, state license, loan-signing certification, or guarantee of appointment.
